Parking Pages
Parking pages or holding pages as we also call them are the default page that is seen when a name is registered through our or any other network and does not have unique hosting or content. Instead of a blank or error page the name will default to its own holding page which is populated with advertising links placed there by the registering network. This may be as simple as a splash page for the company that registered your name or a page of text links. If you can anticipate exisitng or type-in traffic with your undeveloped name(s) then you can take control of this advertising space. How? Simply with forwarding or a change in nameservers, meaning that the domain's homepage shown to visitors moves somewhere else, somewhere that you have control over and possibly see a return on your registration investment from. When you are trading domain names you may own many undeveloped internet properties, and using to its best and monetising each 'for sale' page is extremely important. You may use third parties to monetise the traffic to your undeveloped name on a per click basis at the same time as advertising it for sale. The most popular of these service providers is sedo.com
Many domain names can be made to pay their own way by using parking page advertising, even after the ad provider (usually Google syndication) and the seller network (frequently sedo) have taken their cut of the advertiser's payment for each click. Genuine single word names for well searched words or names possessing existing backlinks should each turn a modest, but worthwhile, profit. Some domains, however, will not get one natural visitor from one week to the next. If your domain blue-tinfoil-paperclips.com does not a) do well in searches for b) a frequently searched product and c) show at least moderate value adverts then it probably won't be a money spinner.

Standard Network 'Registered Domain Name'

Third Party Monetised Page
Adsense™ publishers who think they spy a hole in this market need to take note of Adsense's terms. You may not place ads on non-content pages, and this is expanded to specifically include parking pages. A network needs to be quite large to enter into the Google ad syndication network.
Domain portfolios of 50 quality names or above may benefit from bespoke parking page setup and management. We can guage viability for and manage third party parking page monetisation or offer your domain homepage advertising space via our in-network exchanges.
